The Arrow Tool is the default tool for manipulating components and graphics on the Design Canvas. This tool is also used for manipulating vector graphics on the Symbol Editor. When this tool is activated single items can be selected by clicking on them with the left mouse button, or multiple items can be selected by holding down the Shift key and clicking on the items one by one. Alternatively multiple items can be selected by dragging a selection rectangle around the items. This is done by clicking on an unused area of the Design Canvas and holding the left mouse button down, then moving the mouse over the canvas, forming the selection rectangle. Upon release of the mouse button the selection will occur. The way the selection rectangle works is determined by the option ' Select items partially contained in selection rectangle '. Items may be moved using the Arrow Tool by clicking and holding the left mouse button over the item and dragging it to it's new position, then releasing the mouse button. If the item was a component then it will snap it's position to the nearest grid point. Vector graphic placement on the other hand is not limited by grid points. |
