This dialog allows you to specify attributes for a new schematic. Once the
attributes have been specified and OK has been selected the dialog will close
and the new schematic will become the active item in the Design Canvas. Attributes
of the new schematic are as follows:
- Schematic Name
- The name of the new schematic can be any combination of ASCII characters.
The only restriction on the name of a schematic is that it cannot be the same as
an existing schematic or state diagram name, or a built-in component name.
- Category
- Use categories to logically group your schematics. Category names can be any
combination of ASCII characters and you can use an existing category name to group a
new schematic. Each dot '.' that is contained in a category name indicates
a new sub category. For example, 'Counters.Unsigned' will create a category
folder called Unsigned which will be a child of a category folder called Counters.
There is no limit to the number of levels of category folders.
- Size
- Medium is the default size for schematics. Providing a project is divided
into schematics for logical components then this size should fit most needs.
The Design Canvas may be less responsive for large schematics on slower
computers.
