When constructing a state diagram, the name of a state can be modified by
either double clicking on the state, or right clicking and selecting
'Properties' from the popup menu. The state name can be any combination of alpha numeric
characters as well as spaces.
The initial state for your state diagram can be set by right clicking on a state
and selecting 'Set as Initial State' from the popup menu. The outline colour of
the state will change to green (by default) to indicate that it is the initial
state.
