  • Wiring Tool

The Wiring Tool is used to connect component pins to create a circuit. When this tool is activated and the mouse is moved over the Design Canvas the mouse cursor will represent a cross-hair.

Wires can be constructed in two ways. The first way is to click on one point on the schematic, then move the mouse and click on another point. The second way is to click and hold the left mouse button down at a certain point on the schematic, then move the mouse to another point and release the mouse button, hence creating the wire.

When the Auto Routing action is enabled, many connected wire segments may actually be created between the two selected points. The auto router does this to provide a path between the two points that does not interfere with existing components or connections.

Steps to use auto routing with the wiring tool:
  1. Activate the wiring tool and choose two points you would like to connect together.
    Choose two points to connect
  2. Click on the first point, move the mouse to the second point then click on the second point.
    Click on each point
  3. After the second click the auto router chooses a suitable path and creates the wires to form the connection.
